Located on the upper reaches of Yangtze and isolated by a ring of mountains , Sichuan province is famous as the hometown of pandas . Except desert and ocean , there are various types of geographic features , including plain , plateau , valleys , mountain ranges and snow caps .
Geological Feature : adjacent to Chongqing on the east , to Guizhou and Yunnan Province on the south , to Tibet on the west , to Gansu and Shanxi Province on the north .The west part is characterized by plateau and mountains , ranging from 2500m to 7200m ,while east is charaterized by plain and hills ,ranging from 400m to 1800m .
